Stone Town (Mji Mkongwe) is the UNESCO coral-stone quarter of Zanzibar City. The walk covers the Old Fort, the House of Wonders waterfront, Forodhani, Darajani market, and the Anglican Cathedral on the old slave market.
Doors, balconies, and narrow streets show the Omani, Indian, and Swahili mix that made the town a clove and ivory port. The pace is on foot. Cars stay on the edge.
